Commissioned Work
Most of these samples have been from places I have worked or from freelance gigs.
In 2012 I learned how to set up & design for apparel and other print materials.
The majority of work that I did was for sport teams and schools This opportunity helped me developed skills in color separation, print set up and logo creation for various types of apparel as well as embroidery design, tracing for embroidery and setting up for hats and shirts.
I really loved the small shop experience, because I learned how to work in the production area as well, helping cleaning the screens with the proper chemicals, mixing paint to match the PMS colors, setting up and actually painting some of the shirts. It was a great experience overall. I really like the fast pace in this industry.
The Vegan Wheelbarrow
"La carreta vegana" is a vegan restaurant in Tijuana that I fictitiously planned for a future business project. I developed and design a fresh image and realistic food menu that invites the main audience to enjoy a healthy and economic meal. The logo is an elegant type face that I altered to make it a unique typeface to identify the fresh image of a vegan establishment. The texture of the logo portrays a grassy feel as if it were a plant. The main purpose of the restaurant is to make it a franchise or mobile station that will have a lot of wood in its decoration and organic textures.
The outside of the menu
This is the front and back of the extended menu. Organic textures such as wood, bambu and cloth are mainly used to make it seem as it was hand made with original materials.
The inside of the menu
The structure of the menu is really simple, it has two main choices:
The first one is to build your own menu by choosing your plate, your base and veggies, you can also make it a combo.
The second one is to choose the meal of the day that also can be turned in to a combo. A simple and visual menu for a quick and delicious choice.
The promotional items
Starting by it's main logo at the entrance of the restaurant that will be cut or carved in wood with real leaves to decorate it. The staff will use a screen printed shirt and a embroidered cap as well as a apron that will have the logo to promote the brand. The business cards and flyers with the information of the address and contact information to make orders for a quicker pick up.
Design and set up for flyers, business shop and banners.
I started learning the professional set up at an summer internship I did for a local print store called Sir Speedy in Chula Vista, CA. After this experience I reinforced my experience in Boca Rio a screenshop were we designed banners for business, schools and sport teams.
